THE BREAKTHROUGH
A complete redesign and relaunch of the nurse virtual assistant initiative, driven by real nursing workflows, validated under IRB study conditions, and rebuilt in partnership with clinical, IT, and AI leaders to ensure safety, adoption, and long-term sustainability.

· 22 Clinical Users enrolled across departments in structured early access.

THE CHALLENGE: A VISION WITHOUT ALIGNMENT, A TEAM WITHOUT MOMENTUM
The Nurse Virtual Assistant initiative began with promise, but quickly ran into friction across teams, timelines, and trust. The technology wasn’t ready, the platform partner couldn’t support the roadmap, and the core project team was at risk of unraveling entirely.
KEY BARRIERS:
Misaligned Stakeholders: Project sponsor and principal innovators were not aligned on the product direction, stalling progress and confidence
Platform & Technical Blockers: The chosen tech stack couldn’t support the vision, flowsheet data issues and content restrictions derailed clinical value
Team Attrition & Political Minefields: Innovators left, engineers were reassigned, and the project was close to collapse without strategic intervention
No Clinical Validation Path: Without IRB-backed studies and cohort testing, the team lacked the evidence to move forward with confidence or compliance.
The result? A promising AI use case that was weeks away from being archived—until the reset.

• Launched a formal study under IRB using the HEART framework and SUS scoring
• Collected real and retrospective user data to validate adoption, engagement, and task success
